Guitar Player (Julian)

About Julian

Julian Esquibel was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. From a young age he showed interest in music. Julian got his first guitar at age 12 and began taking lessons from Edmund Diniz. At first, he only wanted to play rock and heavy metal. Julian’s father, Ben, encouraged him to learn a variety of genres, including New Mexico Spanish, country, funk, and oldies. As a result, he became skilled in a variety of different genres and sometimes blends them together to create his own style. In his younger age, Julian didn’t join any bands but had played with his father and his father’s friends Charlie “Charola” Gallegos and Rick Lucero, along with friends from school. Julian took a break from music for 13 years after high school to pursue a college degree and focus on raising 3 children. As his children got older, he got back into music and started performing with different groups throughout New Mexico. Julian has shared the stage with many talented musicians and recording artists including Ariel Macias, Maiya Dominguez, Jonathon Chavez, Christine Vee, Black Pearl, Buena Suerte, and Jerry Dean. Julian can be seen performing regularly with Jerry Dean and Buena Suerte.
